We had a chance to meet some new friends at the Canine Companions annual celebration dinner in Dana Point on October 26th. Invited by special friends Linda Thompson and husband
Dave we enjoyed a great dinner with lots of special canines in attendance right at our table! How cool is that?

The event raises funds each year to provide service dogs to humans with special needs. Since 1975 CCI, a non-profit organization has placed 4000 dogs with very special humans living in the USA. Speaking of special humans! Did you know that breeder caretakers and puppy raisers DONATE their time- breeding, whelping and then turning these special dogs over to puppy raisers?? The dogs are then specially trained for 6 months and then evaluated for the right fit and the right human. You have never seen so many happy dogs and so many wonderful humans in one spot!

We were especially proud to meet former Marine and CCI graduate Bren Denny. He shared a wonderful video of his service dog Stefano. We met many special dogs. Check out the pictures of these great humans and dogs- meet my new friend Keifer, puppy in training.

So how can you help? CCI provides these dogs to special humans at no charge-a labor of love and joy! The cost of breeding and training, and care amounts to $45,000 per dog and CCI is funded completely by donation. Please visit CCI.org to donate or better-get involved!

Please feel free to e-mail me and tell what you think about the great work of CCI!
