Flea Products Recommended by IVS
Dogs and cats often get infested with fleas through contact with other animals or contact with fleas in the environment. The strong back legs of this insect enable it to jump from host to host or from the environment onto the host. The flea’s bite can cause itching for the host but for a sensitive or flea-allergic animal, this itching can be quite severe and leads to hair-loss, inflammation and secondary skin infections. Some pets, hypersensitive to the flea’s saliva, will itch all over from the bite of even a single flea.
Please call either of our convenient locations to discuss what flea treatment would work best for your pet.
Be sure to ask your veterinarian for recommendations
on how to prevent and control these pesky fleas.
IVS Offers a Free 30-Day Trial with Trupanion
Trupanion is affordable health insurance for both your cat and dog over 8 weeks and under 14 years of age. Similar to human health insurance, pet insurance helps provide peace of mind in case the unfortunate should happen. Its purpose is to help cover the costs of unexpected accidents and illnesses that may occur in the future. Unfortunately, it will not cover any current conditions your pet may have which are known as pre-existing conditions. This means that the ideal time to insure your pet is as early as possible so that anything that happens in the future will be covered
Visit Trupanion for more information or call either one of our locations. We would be happy to discuss Trupanion and its value for both you and your pet.
Trupanion states “We’re a pet insurance provider started and run by pet lovers, which means we understand the bond you share with your dog/cat. And we want to protect it.”
