The Medical Team

The primary focus for the Veterinarian is to provide the highest quality medical care to patients and to provide clear, careful guidance to clients. In order to accomplish this goal, the doctor is committed to educating support staff in all aspects of pet care, oversees nursing care and takes seriously the challenge of explaining all treatment options to clients. The Medical Team is aided by using all available diagnostic tools, performing surgery utilizing the most current techniques and equipment, and directing the staff in the use of drugs and equipment.

In addition, the Veterinarian participates in business and marketing planning in order to grow the practice, and takes a leadership role with colleagues and staff in supporting efforts to improve quality care and client service.

Veterinarians must have a DVM or VMD degree, a California State License, and a current DEA license. They must also attend continuing education seminars annually and be committed to maintaining their professional skills at the highest level. Self confidence, excellent communication ability and strong leadership skills are necessary to be successful at IVS.
