A Special Message from the Coles

A Special Message to Our Clients at IVS

It is with profound thanks and gratitude that we announce our retirement after 47 years as practice owners at Irvine Veterinary Services.

We have been privileged to serve our clients, develop and mentor our staff, and care for the pet owning community of Irvine and Orange County. We have been honored to assist our colleagues in support of the veterinary profession throughout the United States serving on non-profit boards and contributing to initiatives that support the ideals of our profession.

We are departing at this time with the greatest confidence that our collective practice staff is able to carry on our mission and vision-‘to provide the highest quality pet care and client care, enriching and protecting the special relationship between pets and people’.

We will miss every one of you but will carry with us always the special memories of our beloved clients and patients that have enriched our lives all these years.

We are hopeful that you will further honor us by continuing to trust IVS staff at both UP and NP for all your pet care needs-

Much love and appreciation-

Dr. Edward and Pamela Cole

Northpark’s Heads of the “Clowder”

Did you know a group of cats is called a clowder? At Northpark we have Practice Manager, Sharon Freshour, and Medical Director, Dr. Caitlin Snyder, rounding up the clowder of staff!

Dr. Snyder is an exuberant leader who is constantly looking for new and innovative ideas. When she’s not in the office treating pets and talking to clients, she is off on a continuing education adventure. Dr. Snyder enjoys sharing her new knowledge with our University Park Medical Director and all of the Veterinarians at both practices. Dr. Snyder is a Rhode Island native who was a “horse girl” prior to attending veterinary school. She could always be found working at a barn and even as a camp counselor she worked at the petting zoo and horseback riding activities. She attended Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and during her undergrad she worked as a veterinary assistant. She spent time as an ER Vet at a 24 hour clinic in Michigan prior to moving to California in 2012 when she found her home at IVS. She became the Northpark Medical Director in 2015.

When Dr. Snyder is not practicing veterinary medicine or off learning the latest and greatest, she enjoys spending time hiking, attending fitness class and enjoying the California sunshine with her husband and Dutch Shepherd.

Sharon Freshour joined IVS as the Practice Manager at Northpark in 2008. As Practice Manager she oversees the day-to-day staff, client and pet relationships. Her 20+ years in management in different human medical fields combined with her love of animals and people made this a great role for her to undertake. Sharon enjoys making sure we are providing the highest quality experience to every patient, every client, every time.

When she’s not at IVS providing service with a smile, Sharon is taking her 7 year old Pekinese for leisurely walks and cuddling with him while reading a good book. She also enjoys cooking and all things Disney.

University Park Leaders

Leaders of the University Park “Pack”

Did you know that Irvine Veterinary Services – University Park has almost 50 years of just IVS experience contributing to what is actually over 50 years of veterinary professional experience in just its 3 main managing staff?

Heather Finney, Practice Manager, joined IVS as a receptionist in 1998 and moved up the ranks to Practice Manager in 2014. Her dependable longevity, astute leadership and excellent customer services skills demonstrated at IVS allows her to offer a unique wisdom that helps in keeping the Coles’ wisdom and vision alive. Heather makes sure the day-to-day operations runs smoothly and oversees all things personnel, marketing, and business related.

Along with her 20 years’ experience at IVS, Heather, started her veterinary career path as a Kennel Attendant in high school, was a Veterinary Assistant in college and is a UC Davis graduate where she obtained her BS in Avian Sciences. After college she worked at a veterinary lab in the Hematology Department. When Heather is not at IVS, she enjoys going to the ballet and bird watching.

Our Medical Director is Dr. Mariana Pascucci. If you haven’t met her you should! Dr. Pascucci facilitates all things medicine at IVS to ensure we are offering the best and safest medical practices for your pets. Dr. Pascucci is responsible for coordinating standards of care with our Northpark Medical Director and the doctors and both practices. She mentors new Veterinarians just like Dr. Cole used to – with a kind heart and gentle hand, guiding them to practice the highest quality medicine available. Dr. Pascucci became the University Park Medical Director in 2015.

Before heading to UC Davis to become a Veterinarian, Dr. Pascucci started out as a Veterinary Assistant right here in southern California. She also was an interned locally and did relief work prior to joining IVS in 2011. When Dr. Pascucci is not providing our clients with exceptional veterinary care, she enjoys spending her time with her family, especially her husband, daughter and family dog taking advantage of the great outdoors, sporting events and beautiful southern California weather!

Joshlyn Harding, Assistant Practice Manager, works alongside Heather and Dr. Pascucci to train new staff and to assist clients, staff and Veterinarians, and is a “Jack of all trades.” Her tireless work ethic shows in all she does. Joshlyn first fell in love with the front office area of the animal hospital when she worked as a receptionist at a local practice just out of high school. She joined IVS in 1998 and in 2014 she was promoted to Assistant Practice Manager. Joshlyn embodies the culture the Coles originally started and carries on their traditions daily in each bond building interaction she has with clients and staff. She loves that her time at IVS has allowed her to establish lasting relationships with multiple generations of client families and their pets. By building these bonds she has established the hospital as the main knowledge source to our clients for their pets. When Joshlyn isn’t running around IVS, she can be found at the Big A watching baseball, at the Honda Center cheering on a hockey game, or at the dog park with her Pomeranian Floyd!
